There is a saying: “8 glasses of water a day keeps the doctor away”.

Although true, not quite so accurate for everyone, is it?

Glasses come in different shapes and sizes, just like us.

Following that, would the same amount of water be enough for a 140lbs person and someone weighing 220lbs?

Would you be sweating as much in Alaska versus if you live in a hot desert city like Las Vegas? Well hopefully not.

How about if you work in an air-cooled office environment for 8 hours a day versus someone spending the same amount of time doing physical work outside?

So how much water should you drink?

Hydration plays a great role in your overall health.

Ever since we were kids, we’ve been told we should be drinking plenty of water every day.

Unfortunately, most people are always slightly dehydrated and that is because thirst is a signal of dehydration, not just a simple warning.

Recent trends find a great way to measure the water quantity you need to take.

Because we are so different, in order to get a more accurate way to find out how much water to drink is the following:

drink as much water as needed to get 5 full short visits to the restroom per day. That’s it, If you have at least 5 “tinkles” a day, you’re drinking enough water.

This way regardless of how much you weigh, work out, current environment temperature and humidity, you will be taking the right quantity of water, based on YOUR body’s needs and not someone else’s.

Water quantity is very important but have you considered what is the quality of the water you drink and use? Acidic, alkaline, pure or not, soft or hard?
